Some of their tunes would be classified as trip hop nowadays, but in the late 1970s people simply called it jazz rock. Fortunately, however, the self-indulgent virtuosity that’s so often associated with that genre was entirely absent from Munju. Light-footed melodies found elastic Latin and funk grooves: music for somnambulists and other loony lunar-tune lovers.
